Easter was:

So we're back home, I am at the computer, uploading all kinds of pictures from a project I finished, and the trip.

What do I find but pictures of all four (!) eggs we dyed for Easter. Hey there were only the three of us, Crafty Girl, Dear Husband, and I, that morning, and four eggs made a nice egg salad after church and before we hit the road.

Crafty Girl took my camera and took a few pictures of the eggs. The lovely background is our yellow formica countertop.

Remember, your comment will put you in the drawing for the book Ethnic Knitting Exploration, and enough yarn to make some 2-color Lithuanian fingerless mitts.

PS: to Melanie from the comments: yes all the yarn shops were closed. But I am NOT looking for more yarn. I'm not. Believe it.
PPS: to answer Pat's question from the comments: we started with brown eggs, and we always leave the eggs in the dye for a long time. Some of these are dyed twice, like the green/teal one, which Crafty Girl did, and used a rubber band to get the stripe.
These make me want to dye yarn really badly.....

love the rich colors - I remember our egg-dying always resulted in washed-out pastel eggs!
(hmmm - my verification word was "poldem" - sounds like an Albany patronage job!)

The eggs shots are beautiful! I learned a way to (literally) tie-dye eggs this year. Crafty Girl would love it, and it appeals to the dyer in all of us. We have to get together sometime and I will share...

We had such a quiet Easter this year I didn't even dye eggs. I did, however, put out a basket of my Pysanky that I made years ago.

We're still looking for that last egg that my daughter hid. Easter and sunshine does bring out the desire to dye, dye, dye.Jane

Well I'm glad you made it back home safe. Your four sweet little eggs look great! I especially love the purple, Crafty Girl did a great job taking pictures. Thank you for sharing them with us, it's the one thing I miss about Easter as a child. With Eric on nights it's not much fun anymore to dye by myself so I haven't made any in years now. Maybe next year! :-)

Great photos Crafty Girl - there is something immensely satisying about a simple image like your eggs:)

These eggs are incredibly beautiful. How could you eat them :-) My only experience with Easter egg dye was dye-ing yarn for the first time. It was lots of fun.
