I knit. And I cook, write, take pictures. All for one low price.

I'm in trouble.

According to a google search, Tall Son's college town, Rochester, NY, has 9 (nine!) yarn shops.

In other news, Crafty Girl and I take turns being really emotional. I knew she would be very sad that her brother is leaving. We keep reminding ourselves that he can indeed be a pain in the neck, that there are never any leftovers of mac and cheese (or anything else, for that matter) because he eats it all, and, and, and then we can't think of anything worse at the moment and then we miss him again already.
Completely irrational. I know.

Meanwhile, I am knitting away on my "olympic" sweater -- Kearsarge from a fine fleece.
I may not make it by the closing ceremonies, but I can say that I gave it my best shot.
I hope to have the front finished tomorrow. Then I will block both the back and the front and hopefully take a picture.

I feel your sadness! Hmmm, maybe a quick trip to one of those yarn shops would help a little....Give my best to Tall Son and hugs to the Crafty Girl and her parents.

I'm telling you, they do not tell you about this part of parenting!! Hang in there-- on the other side is the delight of having adult children.

You know when I read the title of your post on Bloglines my heart jumped for a second but then I quickly thought..."Nah, this is about yarn."

You know Karin, it is completely understandable and justifiable to bury your sorrow in Fiber. I mean c'mon we all know that there are therapy animals that travel to hospitals, nursing homes, and schools, right? What's the difference if their fiber has been gently removed and dyed into irresistible colors? Your still "petting" them and getting the therapeutic value.

That's my story and I'm stickin to it!

I know Jakob will do great, and Thanksgiving is around the corner. Good luck, Cathy O
